Inspiring future legal professionals through a new long-term partnership

Our commitment to social mobility continues to grow through a groundbreaking partnership with the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) and The Brilliant Club. We have joined forces with these organisations to create a long-term careers and aspirations programme, currently being piloted at King’s Oak Academy in Bristol. Designed to raise aspirations and improve social mobility, the programme supports students from Year 6 to Year 11, offering consistent guidance at key stages of their education.

Rather than one-off interventions, this initiative is built on sustained engagement. Students benefit from interactive assemblies, classroom sessions, mentoring, workplace insight days and mock interviews. Each activity is carefully tailored to reflect students’ development, ensuring support is relevant, meaningful and impactful. By building trusted relationships over several years, the programme helps demystify professional career pathways and empowers young people to see themselves in careers they may not previously have considered.

A strong focus on social mobility and inclusion underpins the collaboration. By engaging with students early and staying alongside them throughout their school journey, the programme aims to remove barriers, challenge perceptions and open doors to future opportunities. In the first two terms, we had 180 students involved in the programme.

This partnership represents responsible business in action – a sustained, collaborative effort to inspire and support the next generation while helping build a more diverse and inclusive future for the legal profession.

Bringing Womble Bond Dickinson and The Brilliant Club together to explore a bespoke programme has been a great experience; as a result, we've been able to create a blueprint that will be scalable across the trust and at non-CLF schools.
