Our faith and wellbeing rooms

Since 2022, our faith and wellbeing rooms have been an important part of our commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive and healthy workplace. Designed as quiet, private spaces within our offices, these rooms have long offered colleagues moments of pause – whether for prayer, reflection, wellbeing needs, or simply time away from the busyness of the working day. Over the past year, however, we have taken purposeful steps to broaden their visibility and expand their use, particularly among returning parents, ensuring these spaces genuinely meet the evolving needs of our people.

Each room provides a calm, confidential environment where colleagues can practise prayer, meditation or mindfulness according to their personal or faith-based preferences. To support the diverse beliefs represented across our firm, facilities such as prayer mats and rosary beads are available, with clear guidance to maintain hygiene and respect for religious practice. During Ramadan, we highlighted to line managers the importance of the wellbeing rooms for colleagues who are office-based who might want to pray and break a fast.

At the same time, the rooms play a crucial role in supporting the wellbeing of new and returning parents. Fridges are provided for the safe storage of expressed milk, ensuring colleagues who are breastfeeding feel fully supported as they transition back into work. This practical provision, highlighted as part of our wider package of return‑to‑work support, has been increasingly promoted over the past year to ensure colleagues know these rooms are available to them.

Beyond faith and parental needs, our faith and wellbeing rooms accommodate a wide range of wellbeing requirements. Colleagues can use them for rest, taking medication, managing medical conditions, contacting a GP or the Employee Assistance Programme in privacy, or simply taking a short break to reset.

By expanding the visibility and understanding of how these spaces can be used, we are strengthening a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. The rooms offer more than facilities; they represent our commitment to inclusion in action. They acknowledge that wellbeing looks different for every individual, and that meaningful inclusion requires both thoughtful design and ongoing attention to the lived experiences of our people.

As we continue listening to colleagues and evolving these spaces, our faith and wellbeing rooms will remain a cornerstone of our holistic approach to wellbeing, ensuring every person has the space, dignity and support they need to thrive.
